Ничего не понятно, но возможно вот что имелось ввиду:

В РФ и МСФО-бухотчетности "запрещены" отрицательные значения вида -100
Их надо отражать без минуса и в скобках (100)

Наглядность спорная, но привычная. Ей здорово помогает красный цвет, который на лазерной распечатке черный.
А еще эта хитрость позволяет "подводить итоги" любого бухотчета простой функцией SUM/СУММ для всех показателей столбца в отчете. У ТС скорее всего попытка изменить формулу в опоре на внешний вид ячеек, а он обманчив.

Скорее всего у ТС Calc хранит с минусами, но показывает без. Например, такими получаются файлы Excel/Calc при экспорте из 1С (Баланс, Форма-2 итд). 

Calc позволяет хранить в ячейке -100, но показывать на экране/печати без минуса, красным и в скобках (100)
